The Blackstone Affair by Raine Miller

A three book series set in London on the eve of the 2012 Olympic Games.  Elite private security agent, Ethan Blackstone buys a nude portrait of American art student, Brynne Bennett and finds his world rocked to its core.  Published by Atria Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.

My Take:

This story pulled me in and kept me there through all three books. I love Ethan and Brynnes’ story.  Ethan is so alpha male, but without being an asshole…like most alpha males.  The way he takes care of Brynne, makes him even sexier.  Every thing he does, he does for her. *Swoon*  There were so many times that I wanted to grab Brynne, shake her, and say “Dammit girl, he loves you! Stop running!”  This series is action-packed, romantic, sexy, sweet, sad, shocking, and just plain wonderful.  I highly recommend this series! Cannot wait for book #4!

“Wethering The Storm” by Samantha Towle

I just finished this book and I can honestly say that it was phenomenal! I could not put it down! I finished it in one setting because I could not make myself walk away.  I loved the first book “The Mighty Storm” and absolutely recommend reading it before starting “Wethering the Storm”.  Samantha Towle is an amazing writer that knows how to bring you into the mindset of the characters, so much so, that you feel like you are going right along with them through the ups and the downs.  I found myself going from crying big fat tears, to laughing out loud.  The chemistry between Tru and Jake is scotching hot! These books will not disappoint.

The standard stuff…

I started writing seriously in 2008 while on maternity leave with my son. I completed my first novel in five months, and I haven’t stopped writing since! I have two novels released through Night Publishing, ‘The Bringer’ and my most recent ‘First Bitten’.

I can’t write a single word without listening to music. I listen to Kings of Leon, Adele, One Republic, The Doors, Muse, Oasis, Fleetwood Mac, Lady Gaga, Ed Sheeran and Lana Del Rey to name a few.

I was born in Hull. I graduated from Salford University in 2002 with a BSc (Hons) in Business and Marketing. I now live in East Yorkshire with my husband Craig, son Riley and daughter Isabella.

The not so standard…

I burn myself cooking on average at least once a week

I have weird phobias – clowns and jelly

I was 27 the first time I flew on a plane

I dip my fries in my milkshake

I somehow have never broken a bone, which is amazing seen as though I can barely put one foot in front of the other

I passed my driving test first time

I crashed my car a month after having my license

I have zero sense of direction

I hate geography for the above reason

I believe in karma and reincarnation

I read weirdly fast

I have a really loud laugh

And I talk way too much

Remembering Joy by Jenni Moen

Remembering Joy by Jenni Moen
I was gifted this book by the author to give an honest review, and I can honestly say that I LOVED it! I cannot believe that this is Jenni Moen’s first book! The storyline is refreshingly different than anything I have ever read.  I fell in love with the characters from the first page and felt connected with them, so much so that when they were going through struggles and emotions I felt as if I was right there with them. I am so glad that I read this book and I highly recommend it to everyone who believes in love, overcoming obstacles, and second chances.

jenni  Jenni Moen lives in her hometown in Oklahoma with her husband and three crazy, exuberant kids that have the potential to burn the house down at any moment.

When she’s not chauffeuring kids around town, performing her mom duties as a short order cook and maid, or vacuuming for her fastidious husband, she hammers away at her keyboard at her big girl job as a patent attorney. While vodka and exercise have provided some relief from the daily grind, it is reading … and now writing … that
are her true escapes.
